The Behind the Destruction podcast is sponsored by Heavy Metal Performance of Rockdale, Illinois.

PODCAST NOTES: One of my favorite topics of conversation that Steve Gursky Jr. and I have had is in this podcast.  It’s hard to summarize succinctly, but it gets into the psychology of accusing someone of cheating and why it’s easier to do that than admit you weren’t as good as another driver.

Guests Michael Noble and Mel Noble Jr. are both part of the long standing team, Stranglehold, in the Team Demolition Association.

Michael Noble was a rookie driver in 2011 and he gets inside that and what type of drivers the team is looking for in 2012; the answer may surprise you.

Mel Noble Jr. is one of the most interesting stories you’re going to hear about this year.  He isn’t just a demolition derby driver, but a legally blind demolition derby driver who, in a race earlier this year, lost his helmet… and kept on racing, ultimately pulling a head on collision with another driver at 40 mph.
