The Most Drivers: DAMAGE, INC
On the teamdemos.com web-site, Damage, Inc. is listed as having 8 different drivers race for them this year, a number that ties them with Seek-N-Destroy for most drivers (there are 9 names listed for Damage, Inc., but Matt Wilson is listed twice).
However, that doesn’t paint the full and complete amount of driver turnover that Damage, Inc. had this year. The reason for this is that Dave Swan, Jr., Pete Ryan and Tom “Brickman” Lewis were left off of the online Damage, Inc. roster; Ryan raced twice for them—a number that means he finished just as many races for Damage, Inc. as did Wilson—and Lewis and Swan Jr. once. That brings to 11 the number of drivers that Damage, Inc. raced in the 2011 season.
What makes this more impressive still isn’t just that this total was more than double the number of drivers that both Reckoning and Full Throttle raced, but it was double the number in just six races. Not only that, but five of Damage, Inc.’s drivers also managed to race for other teams in the 2011 season; Dave Swan for Mean Green Machines, Rich Wilson for Bad Company, Steve Schaefer for Seek-N-Destroy, Ryan and Lewis for Orange Crush.
The driver rotation was so much in flux for Damage, Inc. that it isn’t much of a surprise that they’d bring cars to the pits without numbers on them. Prior to race day, it’s a good bet that they weren’t always sure what their roster was.
